What is Coordinated School Health?

The Coordinated School Health (CSH) Improvement Act of 2000 (TCA 49-1-1002) established the CSH initiative in Tennessee.  Trenton Special School District (TSSD) and Gibson County School District (GCSD) began their CSH efforts in 2001.  CSH in Trenton and Gibson County is funded in part by the Tennessee Department of Education.  TSSD and GCSD share the benefits of CSH and contribute both in-kind and monetary resources to the effort.  The T.A.G. Team (Trenton & Gibson County) is one of the initial 10 pilot sites in the state of Tennessee.  It is the only pilot site to combine the efforts of two separate school districts.  The T.A.G. Team partners with Le Bonheur's Department of Coordinated School Health to provide many services within its schools and communities.  CSH, T.A.G. Team seeks to improve the health of not only the students but the school staff, families, and communities it serves.

The CSH, T.A.G. Team uses the 8 component model established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Partial funding and support provided by the Tennessee Department of Education according to the Coordinated School Health Improvement Act TCA 49-1-1002.
