Transition School To Work

The Transition School Work (TSW) program focuses on providing vocational rehabilitation (VR) services to high school students with disabilities who are interested in employment after leaving high school.

Our Mission

To ensure a smooth transition for students with disabilities from high school to post-high school career development and/or employment across Gibson County.

Our Goal

To connect with students by the age of 14 and start working on the 5 Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) categories. This will help students gain insight into career possibilities, develop employment skills, plan for high school classes, and consider the option of Work-Based Learning during their Junior and Senior years. This will provide them with a smooth transition from high school to employment and/or career development.

Our Services

Job Exploration: Exploring the world of work and career choices

Work –Based Learning: Engaging in paid or non-paid work experience which may be in-school and / or after-school

Workplace Readiness: Preparing students for the workplace

Self-Advocacy: Helping the students learn more about themselves, their disabilities, and how to interact in the world

Post-Secondary Counseling and Enrollment Assistance:  Exploring options for students seeking careers that require post-secondary education

Who Is Eligible For Pre-ETS?

Students with an IEP or 504 Plan between the ages of 14-22.
